Vampire Savior is considered to be a very fast paced fighting game that features a strong focus on momentum and rushdown/mixups. Released in arcades in 1997, it is the third game in the Vampire/Darkstalkers/Night Warriors series.

As the title implies, Vampire Hunter 2 is a direct sequel to Vampire Hunter, which means that the four new characters introduced in Savior are gone, replaced with Donovan, Huitzil and Pyron who were cut from Savior. Finally in 2008, Capcom bundle the game in "Value Bundle" along side Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition. Originally released May 5th of 2005, a cheaper version was made available the following year around Christmas. An "Art Gallery" mode allows players to unlock 192 illustrations featuring characters and concept artwork. In the arranged versions the console exclusive characters become playable along with the new character Dee. When conditions are met, alternate or arranged versions of Vampire Savior, Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 can be unlocked. All the games include an arcade, versus, training and option modes. Additionally, the two upgraded titles, Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 are also included. Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection included the first three entries to the Darkstalkers series.
